What it is:
Magic_Carrousel is a Harry Potter fanfiction challenge/contest. If there is enough interest, it will happen every month.
Prompts:
On the 1st, the twenty prompts will be put out. Ten of the prompts are dialogue and the other ten are text. All are from the Harry Potter books. Each fan fiction submitted either must have the prompt in it, in the summary, or quoted in the beginning. Obviously, if the prompt is quoted in the beginning or in the summary the fiction must have something to do with.
Voting:
On the 21th, every fan fiction submitted will be put in a post with a link. That post is for voting. People who submitted fiction and who didn’t are encouraged to vote for their favorites in as many categories as they would like. The votes are screened so no one can read which you vote for (hopefully tempting you to vote for your favorite stories instead of authors you are familiar with). People cannot vote for their own story and can only choose one fanfiction per category. Likewise, you may only vote for the same story once. Anonymous votes (not logged in) will not count as to keep people from cheating. Voting is open until the second to last day of the month.
Categories for voting:
This will be decided depending on how many stories are submitted and will be announced in the voting post.
Wining:
On the last day of the month all winners are posted and banners are handed out. Every story submitted will receive a banner. All fanfictions that won in the voting are placed in the Fics of Fame and will receive a banner.
Fics of Fame:
The Fics of Fame is simply a post that lists all the first and second place winners of that month. That post will be put in the memories. All other fiction submitted will stay linked in the voting post and can be viewed from there.
Fanfiction Submissions:
All Harry Potter fanfiction is accepted. Any pairing, rating, and genre. Het, slash, femslash, chan, general, incest, bestiality, and anything else I forgot to mention is accepted. The only thing not excepted is crossovers as this is strictly for Harry Potter fanfiction.
Any length is allowed. You may write a drabble, ficlet, oneshot, chaptered…we don’t want to put a limit to your muse. In that sense, you may write as many fanfictions as you want. You can also use as many prompts in each fanfiction as you would like.
Please post the story in your journal (not friend locked or people can’t read it and vote for it) since none will be posted here, just links.
If you want to write your story to fit with another challenge somewhere else, go ahead. If you already have a fanfiction that fits one of the prompts (or with some tweaking will) you may use that as well.

Since this is a journal and not a community all you can do is friend us. But friending is great. Then we know that people are interested, and you can get any of our posts in your flist (though it won't crowd your flist as there will be about three posts a month).
